CARPET BEETLES - WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE
Australian carpet beetles are oval-shaped tiny fury beetles that are distantly related to other species of moths and beetles. They are not a uniform colour, but have some combination of black, white, yellow, and sometimes orange pattern colouration. They look like the size of a pinhead, ranging in size from 3mm to 5mm long.
Behaviour
Carpet beetles don’t aggressively interact with humans but their furry body can cause rash or dermatitis as a result of an allergic reaction. These beetles eat away at material leaving bald patches in rugs and carpets.

Adult carpet beetles are attracted to light so you can usually find them around window sills and light fixtures, but once you see one – there’s bound to be a nest somewhere in your property with larvae at different stages of growth.
