COCKROACH CONTROL - CAIRNS
Cockroaches can be a nuisance. Not only can they spread harmful diseases, but they are also fast and sometimes fly – making them quite hard to get rid of without expert help.
COCKROACHES WHAT ARE THEY?
Cockroaches are an incredibly common pest in Australia and, more often than not, are a low-level health risk, but due to their unsanitary eating habits, they can easily transmit bacteria and diseases to humans. Alongside transmitting nasty germs, they are also capable of triggering asthma and allergies.
In Australia alone, there are over 450+ species of cockroach, although you are only likely to come into contact with 5 to 10 of those species on domestic or commercial properties.
Cockroaches thrive in damp, dark and humid environments and are often found in cupboards, under sinks, crawl spaces, kitchens and spaces near pipes. If your pipes are leaking, there could be a chance cockroaches are camping out, and large infestation colonies can give off a rather tell-tale musty odour. You can also spot an infestation by sight, brown egg capsules and by droppings.
Because they feed on garbage, faeces and leftover food, they track whatever bacteria is on those surfaces with them wherever they walk – potentially onto your clean surfaces and even onto food meant for human consumption.
